Schedule F Expenses

Course Description

This course walks tax professionals through reporting a farmer's deductible expenses on Part II of Schedule F. Using farm examples, it covers how to recognize ordinary and necessary farm business expenses, place each expense on the correct Schedule F line, and distinguish currently deductible costs from purchases that must be capitalized.

It covers the prepaid farm supply rules and cash-method timing nuances unique to farming, along with everyday adjustments most preparers handle — splitting costs between business and personal use. Built for preparers new to agricultural clients or building farm tax skills.
