Farm Tax Overview: How The System Works

Write your awesome label here.

Course Description

Farm taxation operates as a parallel system — same Form 1040, different rules. A preparer who works primarily with W-2 employees or urban businesses will find that the farm return involves reporting vehicles, timing conventions, and elections that have no direct equivalent in their prior work, and that picking the wrong one quietly produces the wrong result. This course gives tax professionals new to agricultural clients a working map of that system — how income is reported, how farm assets are treated, and where the farmer-specific rules appear on the return — so the next farm file lands on the desk with a framework already in place.
